Every elder we care for has these rights
These are not legal fine print — they are what every Papama Care Partner is expected to uphold, and what every family and elder can expect and ask for.
Dignity and respect
Care is delivered with courtesy, patience, and respect — never as a chore to rush through.
Privacy
Personal care happens behind closed doors, with permission asked before every task.
Choice and independence
You decide your routine wherever possible — your Care Companion supports what you can safely do yourself, not replace it.
Language and culture
Care communicated in your preferred language where feasible, and your religious and cultural practices respected.
Family involvement, on your terms
Family and representatives are involved only with your knowledge and agreement, not automatically.
The right to say no
You may decline any non-essential activity. Your refusal is recorded and respected, not overridden.
Freedom from abuse and neglect
Zero tolerance for abuse, neglect, or discrimination of any kind — reported and acted on immediately.
Requesting a change
You can ask for a different Care Companion at any time, for any reason, without having to justify it.
A voice in decisions
You are involved in decisions about your own care — Papama coordinates, it does not decide for you.
Clear pricing, no surprises
What you're paying for, and what it costs, is explained upfront — before you ever pay.
A concern is never “just a complaint”
If any of these rights aren’t being honoured, tell your Care Coordinator or Papama Support directly — every report is reviewed, and nothing is dismissed as unimportant.
